Instructor: Dr. Douglas Tallamy

Class Description: Do you enjoy watching colorful butterflies sipping nectar from flowers, or agile birds swooping in for berries? The best way to attract such wildlife displays is to add the right native plants to your yard. Dr. Douglas Tallamy wrote a landmark book, Bringing Nature Home, explaining why native plants serve our wildlife best. In this lecture, learn from Dr. Tallamy how caring members of our community can help restore habitats at home!

Instructor Bio: Dr. Douglas Tallamy is professor and chair of the Entomology and Wildlife Ecology Department at the University of Delaware. Over the past 33 years, Dr. Tallamy’s research has focused on how exotic plants impact native ecosystems and food webs, with a special interest in insects. He published Bringing Nature Home: How You Can Sustain Wildlife with Native Plants in 2007.
