Class Title: Plumeria Craft: Hawaiian Leis

Instructor: Hetty Ford

Class Description: Have you ever had the desire to create a Hawaiian lei from fragrant plumeria flowers? Here's your chance! Our resident plumeria expert, Hetty Ford, will teach you step-by-step how to transform heaps of plumeria flowers into a beautiful lei of your own design. Hetty will also share the cultural significance of plumeria flowers in Hawaii through stunning photos.

Cost: $15 Garden Members/ $20 Non-members (includes supplied materials)

Materials List: Participants should bring their own small scissors.

Instructor Bio: Hetty Ford, originally from Holland, has been growing Plumeria in her yard in Naples since 2000. She was instrumental in getting the Plumeria Collection at the Naples Botanical Garden recognized by the North American Plant Collections Consortium. She has given talks to Garden Clubs around Florida, as well as to the Plumeria Society of America and the Southern California Plumeria Society. Hetty has a plumeria named for her (‘Henriette’) by noted hybridizer Luc Vannoorbeeck.
