Jazz Series Kicks Off At The Garden With Patricia Dean Trio

Naples Botanical Garden, Key Private Bank and CAPA Partner to Launch Six Month Jazz Series

NAPLES, FL – November 15, 2010 – Starting November 21, 2010, the bird songs won’t be the only thing you hear at Naples Botanical Garden as the six month Jazz in the Garden series kicks off from 2:00-4:00 p.m. with a performance by the Patricia Dean Trio. Sponsored by Key Private Bank and in partnership with Bayshore Cultural and Performing Arts (CAPA), the Garden will be hosting a monthly jazz performance by Naples’ favorite performers complete with the stunning backdrop of three new gardens, which opened November 13, 2010.

“Jazz in the Garden is a great combination for the Garden and will be a unique experience for our visitors,” said Brian Holley, Naples Botanical Garden executive director. “They can watch the performers set in our new Water Garden from the Great Lawn or appreciate hearing it throughout the adjacent five gardens.”

As Naples, and especially the Bayshore area, has proven to embrace the arts, this musical series is a unique opportunity to expose more people to the incredible cultural and artistic resources Southwest Florida is attracting.

“At Key, we understand that vibrant communities are driven by more than economics. The arts and bringing together the community around a common cause broadens viewpoints,” said Trisha Hare, Vice President, Key Private Bank. “This is why we are so proud to support Naples Botanical Garden’s Jazz in the Garden. Their efforts to connect people by restoring our region’s natural habitats helps make Naples a better place to live and work.”

The Patricia Dean Trio is just the first of six performances, with the others scheduled from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on the third Sunday of each month through April:

  • December 19, 2010 – The Bob Zottola Quartet
  • January 16, 2011 – The Rebecca Richardson Quartet with Shelton, Dan Heck and Bill Peterson
  • February 20, 2011 – The Dan Heck Trio with Shelton and Bill Peterson
  • March 20, 2011 – The Stu Shelton Trio with Don Mopsick and John Lamb
  • April 17, 2011 - The Lew Delgatto-Dan Miller Quartet with Ron Heffner and Shelton

Visitors to the Garden can enjoy the Jazz in the Garden concerts for the price of general admission - $9.95 for adults and $4.95 for kids ages 4-14 – and Garden members are free. Each guest is invited to bring a blanket or chair to relax on and enjoy the food and cocktails that will be available for purchase during the concert hours.
