- The Smith Uplands is accessible from a trailhead behind the Brazilian Garden of from the path around West lake. The Smith Uplands contains oak scrub and pine flatwoods that are home to 55 gopher tortoises and a remnant slough. The trees in this wetland are home to myriad epiphytic orchids and bromeliads.
