SUMMARY:The Revelations Celebration Community Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Dance for a moment\, remember for a lifetime. \n\n\n\nThe Revelations Celebration Community Workshop invites participants of all ages and abilities to experience Alvin Ailey’s iconic masterpiece\, Revelations\, through movement\, music\, and shared connection. Inspired by Ailey’s “blood memories” of his childhood and the Black church\, this timeless work honors African American heritage and the resilience of the human spirit. \n\n\n\nOpen to all ages and backgrounds\, this workshop celebrates Ailey’s belief that dance belongs to the people. Move\, connect\, and discover why Revelations continues to uplift hearts around the globe. \n\n\n\nSince its 1960 premiere\, Revelations has become the most widely performed modern dance work in the world. In this immersive workshop\, participants will learn excerpts from the piece with Ailey Arts In Education teaching artists\, accompanied by live music from an Ailey percussionist. \n\n\n\nThis workshop is free to attend\, prior registration is required. \n\n\n\n\nRegister Now\n\n\n\n\nWhat to bring\n\n\n\n\nRefillable water bottle\n\n\n\nLoose and comfortable clothes\n\n\n\nLow tread and lightweight footwear; if you choose to wear sandals\, they should feel secure on your feet and include a heel strap.\n\n\n\n\nThis event is organized by United Arts Collier as part of its International Dance Festival in partnership with Naples Botanical Garden. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Ailey\n\n\n\nAiley Arts in Education & Community Programs (AAIE) cultivates and energizes youth and older adults to take\, make\, and see dance. Through our pioneering outreach programs\, we reach over 10\,000 participants each year\, partnering with hundreds of schools\, older adult facilities\, and community organizations. Expanding on Alvin Ailey’s vision of sharing dance with the world\, we inspire people to explore their own creativity and experience the joy of movement. \n\n\n\nAbout United Arts Collier\n\n\n\nUnited Arts Collier (UAC) is the state-recognized Local Arts Agency for Collier County. DESCRIPTION:In partnership with Florida Gulf Coast University’s Bower School of Music: Jazz Area\, the Garden presents Rhythm & Blooms\, a four-concert series featuring world-class musicians. These performers have captivated audiences around the globe\, earning accolades including Emmy and Latin Grammy Awards\, Grammy nominations\, and The Global Music Award. They have appeared at iconic venues such as Blue Note New York\, Newport Jazz Festival\, and Carnegie Hall—bringing their artistry now to Naples. \n\n\n\n – Chairs and blankets are encouraged for and Rhythm & Blooms performances.
