SUMMARY:Ánima Botánica
DESCRIPTION:On view in Fogg Café October 1\, 2026 – July 9\, 2028. \n\n\n\nSee the natural world from a whole new perspective. Here\, towering air plants offer shade like a Florida live oak\, orchid petals may tickle the top of your head\, and a greenhouse frog—no bigger than a thumbtack in real life—might make an ideal companion on your stroll through the Garden. All invite you to imagine what it feels like to be just one inch tall. \n\n\n\nAt this new scale\, hidden relationships and quiet processes come into view. The intricate connections that sustain plants\, animals\, and the ecosystems we share are revealed\, reminding us that the living world is expansive\, complex\, and wonderful. \n\n\n\nAbout the Artist\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPuerto Rican artist Pseudomero\, Ph.D.\, is an art activist\, historian\, and educator. His work has been exhibited throughout the southeastern United States and blends impressionism\, graffiti\, digital photography\, and expressionism. Using reclaimed and repurposed materials\, he specializes in drawing with a background in printmaking\, murals\, and mixed media. While based in Naples\, he has spent the past three years exploring the Everglades collecting photos\, audio and visual recordings\, and sketches that inform much of this exhibition. He uses his work to spark meaningful conversations and inspire change. \n\n\n\n\n\nSUPPORTED BY

SUMMARY:What is Gathered Remains
DESCRIPTION:This exhibition explores the hidden wonder that is Naples Botanical Garden’s seed bank\, a lesser-viewed home for diversity\, restoration\, and preservation. Lauren Shapiro’s semi-transparent sculptural screens incorporate botanical textures\, archival references\, and fragments of language drawn from Garden records. Shifting light and changing vantage points reveal layers embedded within the glass\, echoing the complexity of ecological systems and long-term conservation research. \n\n\n\nWant to be part of the exhibit creation? Join a Community Workshop on November 14 or 15! \n\n\n\nAbout the Artist\n\n\n\nLauren Shapiro (b.1984) is an artist and explorer who lives and works in Miami\, Florida. She integrates ceramics and technology to communicate insights from the natural world\, often collaborating with scientists to influence projects that highlight the diverse ecosystems of South Florida and beyond. She received her MFA from the University of Miami in 2016 and has received awards and commission from prestigious institutions like the Knight Foundation and the Andy Warhol Foundation. Her work has been exhibited internationally and exists in Soho House Art Collection and Jorge M. Perez Collection. She maintains a researched approach to creating\, continuing her exploration of new media and collaborative commissions like the one at Naples Botanical Garden. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nPurchase Garden Admission\n\n\n\nExplore Our Seed Bank\n\n\n\n\nIncluded with Garden admission; free for Members \n\n\n\nEvery Garden admission ticket or membership purchase helps to support Naples Botanical Garden’s conservation efforts.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSUPPORTED BY
