Education & Visitor Experience

Our guest-facing volunteers are the bridge that connects our guests with the Garden’s mission, and there are opportunities at one of our Information Stations, as a Garden Guide, Exhibit Docent, or with one of the Garden’s special seasonal programs. Sharing your passion and knowledge of the Garden is a critical part of the guest experience; the emotional souvenirs you help to create impact everyone here in the Garden.

“What makes the information desk fun are the diverse questions asked by the many visitors. One day a gentleman came up and said, ‘My nephew has a question.’ I looked over the desk, and a youngster, about 8 or 10, bravely looked up with his big, questioning eyes and asked for the name of the spiky trunked tree nearby, the Madagascar palm (Pachypodium lamerei). After I let him know the name, a big smile showed up on his eager face, and he proudly said, ‘This is what I am going to do for a living!’ I responded, ‘Good for you, get yourself educated in this horticulture, environmental field, and maybe you can come back and work at Naples Botanical Garden!’ He looked up at his uncle, who nodded to me with a smile, then offered his hand to his young nephew, and I watched as they both walked happily on through the Garden. It was a wonderful, rewarding day that day.”
