Brian Galligan

Vice President of Horticulture

Brian Galligan has played a significant role in the development of Naples Botanical Garden. Joining the staff in 2007 as the Horticulture Manager, he has influenced the design, plant selection and creation of multiple display gardens. Brian currently holds the title of VP of Horticulture and manages the largest staffed department and is responsible for all the Garden’s cultivated plants including collections, growing facilities, design, and maintenance.

Brian was instrumental in the development and design of the new Evenstad Horticulture Campus, which is among a handful of tropical growing operations in the United States. He led the restoration of the Garden after the devastation of Hurricane Irma in 2017.  He is an expert in tropical plants and frequent speaker in Naples and around the country. He has led extensive collection trips and collaborated with botanical gardens and horticulturists around the world.  

Brian’s past horticultural experience includes multimillion—dollar landscape maintenance and installation contracts for high end facilities and communities.  He also maintains his personal farm with vast tropical fruit and ornamental collections with an emphasis on evaluations and applications for home uses. Brian has a Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture from Auburn University with an emphasis on Landscape design. Brian is a 2020 Leadership Collier graduate and was named to the 2017 Gulfshore Business 40 Under 40 list.
