Artist-Led Workshop: Historias del aire y del suelo | Stories of Air and Soil

October 3, 10:30 – 11:30am

Inspired by Historias del aire y del suelo | Stories of Air and Soil, this workshop invites participants to explore art as a tool for storytelling, observation, and environmental connection. Using recycled materials, participants will create original works inspired by Pseudomero’s exhibition, reflecting on the ecological relationships that connect people, plants, and place.

La Catrina Flower Crowns

October 31 & November 1, 10am & 2pm

Celebrate Día de los Muertos at the Garden with a flower crown fit for La Catrina! Follow along with a Garden Educator as you weave dried flowers into a wearable keepsake, and then enjoy the Garden’s Día de los Muertos festival!

This Garden workshop is offered twice on Saturday & Sunday during the Día de los Muertos Celebration.

Artist-Led Workshop: What is Gathered Remains

November 14, 10am – 12pm
November 15, 10am – 12pm

In this hands-on workshop, participants will contribute to the making of Lauren Shapiro’s installation, What is Gathered Remains, at Naples Botanical Garden. Drawing from the Garden’s seed bank, a living archive of plant species native to Florida and the Caribbean, participants will cut and arrange motifs onto special kiln paper that will then be fired, transforming each participant’s design into cast glass tiles that compose the final sculptures.

Picture Perfect! Smartphone Nature Photography

Select Wednesdays, January – April, 9:30 – 10:30am

See the Garden through a new lens! Learn how to capture your experiences in nature with your smartphone camera and your own portfolio of nature photography that captivates viewers and encourages the exploration of natural spaces.

Create Your Own Kokedama

Kokedama (苔玉), or ‘moss ball,” is the Japanese art of creating a mini garden within a living ball of moss. Join us to learn more about this art form and create your very own Kokedama to take home and enjoy!

This workshop takes place during the Annual Ikebana Exhibition.

Plant Your Own Orchid

Naples Botanical Garden has a an incredible collection of orchids and epiphytes. Join us on a guided journey to look up, down, and all around at these plants that may be hiding in plain sight. Learn how to pot and care for vanilla orchids and take one home to enjoy!

Introduction to Nature Journaling Workshop: Line & Shape

Join us at Naples Botanical Garden to learn the basics of nature journaling, a creative arts practice that brings you closer to the natural world around you. Budding artists will cultivate their artistic skills and creativity during this 90-minute, in-person class, with no prior art experience required. All supplies, such as a journal and watercolor pencils, are included in your take-home kit; just bring yourself and a curiosity about nature! This is part one of a three-part nature journaling series.
